KPNTunnel Revolution (Official 1.4 Stable

The "Revolution" project/series/edition of KPNTunnel is a continuous project that aims to bring new experiments and a fresh, lightweight style to KPN Tunnel (Official). The core of the project has been rewritten from scratch to improve performance and achieve a better lightweight style.

This app is the first to offer tunneling through a built-in SSH Tunnel over an SSL/TLS connection. While SSH Tunneling is considered secure, the developers felt that it wasn't enough, so they added an additional secure method with SSL/TLS connection. You can find instructions on how to use SSH Tunneling over SSL/TLS in the "About" section of the app.

If you encounter any bugs or issues, please contact the developer. It's worth noting that Android versions 4.0 and below only support TLSv1 and SSLv3. Android versions 4.1 to 4.2 do not have TLSv1.1 and TLSv1.2 enabled by default like Android 5.0+. To ensure a more secure update, the developers have added forced enabling of TLSv1.1 and TLSv1.2 for Android versions 4.1 to 4.2.

Some features of this app require a rooted device, such as VPN Tether (which bypasses all Hotspot Tether through the Vpn Interface). The developers also have plans to add more features in the future.

If you choose to use TLS/SSL mode, you will need to install and set up the stunnel4 library. The original stunnel4 library can be obtained from http://stunnel.org. You can search for instructions on how to set up/install stunnel4 for your specific operating system in search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc., based on your Virtual Private Server (VPS).

In Proxy Type Modes "Direct TLS/SSL" and "TLS/SSL Proxy > HTTP Proxy," please set up stunnel to connect with the SSH (dropbear/openssh) server port. In Proxy Type Mode "TLS/SSL Proxy," please set up stunnel to connect with the squid port. It is recommended to enable all TLS and SSL protocol versions to ensure compatibility with Android 4.0 and newer versions.

For the TLS/SSL Client Side (KPNTunnel Revolution App), the app uses the method of TLS/SSL Socket using TrustAll Cert (X509 Certificate). This means you don't need a client key and certificate from the SSL Server. The developers acknowledge that this method is less secure, and they plan to add support for client key and certificate in future updates for a better secure connection.
